Cancer Wellbeing Service
My Story
The Cancer Wellbeing Service provides a wellbeing, support and information service for anyone affected by cancer. Specialist staff are available to offer support, advice and a listening ear through our drop in support service. We also provide a range of services, including individual or group support and information sessions, in an environment where people can meet others in a similar situation so no-one feels isolated or alone.
We use charitable giving to continually improve the support we offer by:
- Specialist Support Sessions: Helping to manage challenging side effects from treatment, such as hot flushes, numbness, and improving wellbeing.
- Art and Craft Materials: Providing resources for activities like mosaics and mixed crafts, where clients gain confidence, discover new interests, and share their cancer experiences.
- Staff Training: Ensuring our team is equipped with the highest quality skills in cancer rehabilitation, side effect management, and listening
- Specialist 1:1 Support: Funding staff to assist clients with emotional needs, completing forms, booking activities, and delivering timely, skilled support.
- Maintaining a Welcoming Environment: Using donations to keep our facilities in top condition, including purchasing seating, plants, equipment, and resources.
